Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What's your turnaround time?

A: Turnaround time depends on the following factors:
1. Word Count
2. Genre and Writing Style
3. Level of Editing/Proofreading Required

I'll be able to provide an estimate once you give me the word count and a little information about your project. If you opt to do a sample edit, that may also improve the accuracy of my estimation. Shorter projects may take only a day or two, while longer ones may require a week. Once a deadline is agreed upon, I'll do everything in my power to meet it. I've yet to miss one!

Q: What genres do you edit?

A: While the books I've written and edited thus far have been primarily of the romance genre, I don't limit myself to that genre for editing. I'm happy to accept most types of fiction, young adult, and children's literature from both traditional and self-published authors. I also edit blog posts, articles, editorials, advertisements, and various other web content.

Q: Do you offer a free sample edit?

A: Yes! I'll take a look at your first 3,000 words (or first 25% for small projects) and do a quick Line and Copy Edit for free. In most cases, I'll have it back to you in less than 24 hours. Where we go from there will be up to you!

Q: How far in advance do I need to book your services?

A: Ideally, the more notice you can give me, the better. However, I do understand that advance notice isn't always possible, and I'll do my best to get your project scheduled according to your preference.

Q: Can I contact you as I'm reviewing the changes you suggested?

A: Absolutely! Even after I've completed the edit session, I want to hear from you again. I encourage you to contact me any time you have questions or concerns. Having an open dialogue during all stages of the process helps me to complete the work to your satisfaction.

Q: What if I can't afford an editor?

A: Don't let that stop you from pursuing your dream. I've been in your shoes and am always willing to help in any way I can. Your publication process may take a little longer, especially if you need to pay the fee in installments, but it can be done. Reach out to me about your project needs, and I'll do my best to help you find realistic solutions.

Q: Do you offer discounts?

A: Yes!
